DESCRIPTION:Visions and Voices is excited to share the upcoming annual BC Child and Youth in Care event happening on Saturday June 6th \, 11am-3pm at Tzeachten Sports field .\nXyolhemeylh will be celebrating YOUth with a large BBQ event\, full of fun activities such as face painting\, bouncy castles\, an inflatable obstacle course\, crafts\, Jumbo field games and more! Compete against your Social Worker in a Tug-o-war or sack race! Come hang out with the Visions and Voices youth leaders\, enjoy some cotton candy or popcorn while we celebrate YOUth !\n\nEvent is free and open to all Indigenous children and youth in care\, previously in care\, or receiving Xyolhemeylh services\, please share!\n\n\n\n\nHistory of BCCYICW: \nA group of youth in and from care  advocated  for  this week so their siblings in care could grow up feeling celebrated for their diverse talents and accomplishments\,  surrounded  by  a  supportive community  who  stands  with  them.  They  also wanted  to  raise  awareness  about  the  barriers  they face and fight the stigma that comes with being a “foster kid.” \nProclaimed by the province of British Columbia in 2011\, BC Child and Youth in Care Week (BCCYICW) is a time for everyone in  communities  across  the  province  to support  and  celebrate our  province’s incredible\, diverse young people in government care. Youth envisioned a week that acknowledges and  celebrates  the  unique  strength  of  young people in care\, and that’s how BC Child and Youth in Care Week was created.\nFor more information or questions please email registration@xyolhemeylh.bc.ca
